Archives & Special Collections

Archival resources available at the Carol Grotnes Belk Library.

It is the mission of the Elon University Archives & Special Collections to document the history of the university and its diverse community of students, faculty, staff, and alumni; to meet the scholarly needs of the university’s various academic departments; and to serve the wider public by collecting, organizing, preserving, and providing access to unique archival materials in both traditional and electronic formats. Archives and special collections include Elon University records, faculty papers, manuscript collections, rare books, artifacts, church records related to the Southern Christian Church and its history, and other special collections of particular interest to the Elon University community. The archives also provides research support and teaching and learning opportunities to administrative and academic departments of the university through reference and instruction services as well as exhibits and special programs.
