Goooooooal!

The goal of this guide (pun intended!) is to help you with your research essays for Dr. Adamson's COR 110 class.

Please email, IM, or come see me if you have any questions.  I really mean it - I'm here to help!

Frameworks for Information Literacy

Most of this guide is very practical - here's a source, here's how to find information in it.  But as you begin your research journey this semester, I want to share with you some ideas that librarians are considering about how you find, use, evaluate, and create information.  These six concepts will all be important to you at different times this semester.  They are listed alphabetically, not in a sequence or in order of importance.  Research is not always a linear process!

  1. Authority Is Constructed and Contextual
  2. Information Creation as a Process
  3. Information Has Value
  4. Research as Inquiry
  5. Scholarship as Conversation
  6. Searching as Strategic Exploration
