Fake news is not just about politics - it affects sports too!
For example, a friendly match between Argentina and Israel was cancelled in 2018, in the run-up to the World Cup. The event quickly became political, and fake news about players making political statements flew around the internet. Read an article debunking the fake news here.
The problem is also the solution! Use Google and the internet to dig a little deeper. Don't just trust Twitter or Facebook re-postings - try to find the original article. if you find a news source with which you are not familiar, sarch the name of the paper or news outlet and the name of the journalist. If you can't find information about either, be very suspicious!
