Elon University Coronavirus Updates

In response to the global outbreak and spread of the novel coronavirusElon University has launched a webpage — www.elon.edu/coronavirus — that provides a variety of resources about the coronavirus and the university’s response. The webpage also includes Elon’s communications to the campus community about the potential impact of the coronavirus and its impact on the Elon community and campus operations.

The university will be sending out a weekly update to the campus community that will be added to this story and posted on the main www.elon.edu/coronavirus webpage, which will be the best source of information from the university.

COVID-19 Exercise & Wellness Resources

The students and faculty of Elon's Exercise Science department compiled these resources to help keep our community mentally and physically well while quarantined. These resources all fit with the Act-Belong-Commit framework the university recently adopted. You can always find more information about exercising and wellness on our Exercise Science Research Guide.

 

Exercise Resources:

  • Nike Training Club is offering their app for free for a limited time
  • Feel Better Yoga has free videos available
  • DoYogaWithMe is ideal for older adults or those with mobility issues
  • HasFit.com offers seated exercises with little/no other equipment needed well-suited for older adults and those with limited mobility
  • FitnessBlender.com has free exercise videos across a range of difficulty levels

 

Mental Health & Wellness Resources:

  • Headspace has added additional free meditation videos to their app
  • Calm meditation app also offers free videos on their app
  • Balance is offering a free one-year subscription until the end of the month
  • Massachusetts' State Government created this guide to help people navigate the mental and emotional strain of COVID-19
