PLOS: Public Library of Science - Biology

    a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Public Library of Science. In 2010, it published nearly 7,000 articles and became the largest scientific journal in the world. Based on this trajectory, the publisher predicts 12,000 published articles by the end of 2011.


This Research Guide contains links to databases containing research articles, scholarly online resources, and information about print materials in Belk Library that can be helpful for your topic.

It can be helpful to read current biology news to find ideas for TOPICS that would be interesting to research.  Glance through titles like Scientific American, New Scientist, Science News, Discover, Science, and Nature to see what's making news in biology, or check the biology news websites.  Here are links to online access.  There's also a database link below to ACADEMIC SEARCH PREMIER, a good place to start because you can get magazine, newspaper, and academic journal coverage all in one place.
